Gary Barrow holds the Ph.D. in Brass Pedagogy from the University of North Texas, the Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the Catholic University of America, and the B.M.E. from the University of North Texas.  He is Professor of Music and conductor of the University Brass Choir. Professor Barrow also teaches applied trumpet, applied horn, jazz history, and brass methods. His articles have been published by journals including School Band and Orchestra, The Journal of Band Research, The International Trumpet Guild Journal, Woodwind, Brass & Percussion, and School Band & Orchestra. Solid Brass Music and TAP Music are publishers for his brass compositions and arrangements.   Prior to arriving at Tech, Barrow was a member of the United States Army Band (Pershing’s Own) in Washington, D.C., and was principal trumpet with the Colorado Springs Symphony.  Dr. Barrow was previously on the faculty at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
