Marcus A. Wiggins is a freelance tubist in the greater Memphis area and member of the adjunct faculty at Arkansas Tech University. A native of Texas, he received the Bachelor of Music (with high distinction) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, a Master of Music in Tuba Performance from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, and is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Memphis. Through the years Mr. Wiggins has been fortunate to study privately with noted brass pedagogues, including Dan Perantoni, Harvey Phillips, Kevin Sanders, and Thomas Stein.
Mr. Wiggins is very active throughout the greater Memphis area as a
recitalist, clinician, and a soloist. He has worked with the Briarcrest
Christian School Marching Band and the Riverdale Middle School band. As a
Soloist/Artist he has appeared in many national competitions, most recently
MTNA Young Artist Competition, and has been featured in a variety of state,
regional and national/international conferences including the Great Plains
Regional Tuba/Euphonium Conference, April 2007, and the United States Tuba
and Euphonium Army Band Conference, January 2006.
