Jon F. Clements, originally from Viroqua, WI, earned a Doctor of Music in Vocal Performance
with an emphasis in vocal pedagogy from the Florida State University College of Music
in 2008. He holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the University
of Missouri-Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in choral music education from
Luther College in Decorah, IA.
Jon has performed in a variety of musical genres including opera, oratorio, art song, and musical theatre including the roles of Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, The Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, and Billy Bigelow in Carousel. Before joining the Arkansas Tech music faculty, he taught music at Luther College, Truman State University, and Jacksonville University. At ATU, Jon teaches applied voice lessons, sight-singing, opera workshop and directs the University Men's Ensemble. Jon is also faculty advisor to the Arkansas Tech Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
Jon has been married to Dr. Barbara Clements since 1995. They have two beautiful daughters, Isabelle Mae and Madeline Louise.
