Congratulations to the 2013 Art and Architecture
Each spring semester the Tech Museum partners with the Art Department to support a
competition called Art and Architecture. Students in the Spring Watercolor class paint
an historic building on campus, and from the paintings a Best In Show is chosen and
the painting is purchased by the Museum to become part of the collection. Several
Honorable Mention Awards are also chosen. Following the judging, all of the paintings
are put on exhibition at the Tech Museum on campus in the Techionery.
The Administration Building was chosen as the subject of the competition this year. The original much smaller structure was built as the Tech Dining Hall in 1910.
The Art and Architecture Student Exhibition opens April 1 and will run thru April 24 at the Tech Museum. Museum hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
