Professional Development Opportunities for Fall 2009

All Professional Development will take place in the Tomlinson Building, room 122A on the campus of ATU unless otherwise noted in the workshop description.  To downloaded a campus map in PDF format (requires Adobe Reader) of the campus, CLICK HERE.

*Pre-Service Teachers enrolled at ATU may enroll in any of these workshops for a reduced cost of $5 for a 2 or 3 hour workshop or $10 for a 6 hour Workshop.

Sept 12 STARLAB Teachers Training Learn how to set-up, take down and use the STARLAB Planetarium equipment to enhance your curriculum.  Participants successfully completing the training will be eligible to arrange loans of the equipment.  Lunch is provided.  K-12 8:30-3:30 ATU

Sept 18 Using Capri Jr. in your Geometry Class Participants will be given a tour of Cabri Jr and shown how this free calculator program can be used to develop critical thinking skills (including proof) in grade 9-12 geometry.  Participants will be provided a notebook of activities ready for use in their classroom. Cancellations must be received by the MSI before the registration deadline to receive a refund.  Following the deadline for each workshop, registration fees are non-refundable unless the workshop is cancelled!
