Math & Science Institute, (MSI)

The STEM Center at

Arkansas Tech University

Russellville, Arkansas

It is with sorrow that I must announce the closing of the Math & Science Institute effective June 30, 2011. It has been a pleasure to serve the teachers and schools of the Arkansas River Valley for the past 13 years. There is a lot of changes coming down the line over the next several years as the new Common Core Standards replace the current Arkansas State Frameworks. Professional assistance will continue to be provided to teachers and administrators through the remaining 11 STEM Centers in the state and the education cooperatives.

PLEASE NOTE:

The STARLAB Program WILL survive!

I will be returning to the university classroom in the Department of Physical Sciences at ATU, but the STARLAB will be coming with me. I will be announcing in May some necessary modifications, but generally if you have used the STARLAB in the past, it will still be available in the future.

All functions of the MSI will continue through the end of June as normal. If any teacher needs assistance, please contact us at the center. We will continue to support math and science education as we have for the past 13 years.

Director, Math & Science Institute, the STEM Center at Arkansas Tech University
