The department of Speech, Theatre and Journalism at Arkansas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Speech position to begin mid-August, 2013. Applicants must be able to teach basic courses in a Speech Communication curriculum including public speaking and business and professional speaking and possess expertise in at least one of the following areas of specialization: interpersonal, organizational, or rhetoric. ABD required. Ph.D. preferred with university teaching experience. The closing date for accepting applications is February 1, 2013.
The department serves approximately 200 majors plus general education students and has active forensics and internship programs. The university is a mid-size comprehensive institution with enrollment approaching 11,000, emphasizing teaching and undergraduate education together with masters' level programs. Arkansas Tech University is located in the scenic Arkansas River Valley between the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains roughly one hour from Little Rock.
