Arkansas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in U.S. History, beginning mid-August 2014. ABD required, PhD desired. Successful applicant must have a specialization within the broad field of U.S. History, with the ability to teach the introductory surveys in U.S. History as well as upper-level specialized courses. Preferred research and teaching in Colonial America. Ability to teach courses in Arkansas History and African American History a plus.  Arkansas Tech is a mid-sized liberal arts university emphasizing teaching and undergraduate education.  Some scholarly production will be required for appointment to the graduate faculty for the growing M.A. program in History.
