Arkansas Tech University is accepting applications for a full-time Head Strength and Conditioning coach.
Founded in 1909, Arkansas Tech is a state supported, SREB four-year level III, liberal arts institution; the third-largest in the state with an enrollment of over 12,000 students. The Russellville campus, located in the scenic Arkansas River Valley between the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains, just one hour from the capital city of Little Rock, boasts a charming blend of historic and modern architecture, including beautiful grounds and greenery. Offering over 100 undergraduate and more than 25 graduate degree programs across seven academic colleges and two campuses, Arkansas Tech strives to provide a solid educational foundation for life-long learning to a diverse community.
The coach will be responsible for developing a systematic exercise prescription training program for both teams and individual athletes, for each of the 10 athletic programs at Tech. As a member of the coaching staff, responsibilities include supervision of Strength and Conditioning program, program design and development in collaboration with head coaches, supervision of graduate assistants within the program, supervision and scheduling of the three weight room facilities, responsible for working with the athletic training department as needed with injury prevention, and rehabilitation of injured student athletes. As a member of the coaching staff, you will insure compliance with NCAA, GAC, and Arkansas Tech University rules and regulations. The Strength and Conditioning coach will report to the Director of Athletics.
A BA is required along with being a certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Preferred qualifications include collegiate work background and administrative experience. This is a 12 month full-time position with no class room responsibilities. The salary range will be commensurate with experience and degree.
