Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus invites applications for the position of Academic Advisor. The Ozark Campus is located on I-40 between Fort Smith and Russellville in the city of Ozark. The Academic Advisor is responsible for assisting with academic and career advising; registration; graduation application process; articulation; special events; and retention functions. Job responsibilities will vary in order to provide the community and students with full-service information. The academic advisor is cross-trained within all areas of Enrollment Management and serves as a student advocate to help ensure student success and will perform other related duties as assigned.
Required: A Bachelor’s degree and three years of work experience in a higher education setting.
Preferred: Candidates with experience in the following areas: advising/counseling or student services; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work within a team setting; possess excellent computer skills; the ability to deal with diverse populations in a positive manner; and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and perform under pressure.
Occasional travel and work beyond normal hours are required. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee. Salary will be $30,000. Excellent benefits package, including tuition reimbursement.
