The Academic Advising Center at Arkansas Tech University is seeking an Academic Advisor to join their advising team. Hire will report to the Director of the Academic Advising Center under the auspices of the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. Position responsibilities include advising and scheduling courses for undergraduate students, interpreting University policies and regulations, and actively pursuing a variety of retention programs.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Preference is given to candidates who possess a master’s degree in college student personnel, teaching, counseling, or a related discipline. Candidates with experience in the higher education environment, BANNER student records system, and who are bilingual are preferred. Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and proficiency with relevant technology.
This is a full-time, 12-month position with a salary commensurate with relevant experience and education in the mid $30,000’s range. Anticipated employment date is June 16, 2015.
