History

The history degree requires thirty nine semester hours of courses beyond the required general education curriculum. History majors are required to take the two-course sequences of world civilization and American history as part of the general education requirements.  Major requirements include twelve hours of 3000-4000 level history courses with at least six hours in U.S. history and six hours in World /European history, introductory courses in political science, economics, world geography, foreign language or speech, anthropology or sociology, methods, Arkansas history, and the capstone writing course.
