Jeff Woods teaches twentieth-century U.S. political and diplomatic history. His research is focused primarily on the Cold War. He is the author of two books, Richard Russell, Southern Nationalism, and American Foreign Policy (Lanham, Maryland: Rowman and Littlefield, 2007) and Black Struggle, Red Scare: Segregation and Anticommunism in the South, 1948-1968 (Baton Rouge: Louisiana State University Press, 2004), as well as several articles. He is also the founder and director of the Arkansas Digital History Institute. Dr. Woods has been at Arkansas Tech since 2000.
I am currently working on a book on American attempts at pacification, counterinsurgency, and nation-building in Vietnam.
