Prior to joining the faculty at Arkansas Tech University, Dr. Michael Rogers taught at St. Rose College, Wabash College, Northern Michigan University, and Lindsey Wilson College.  At Arkansas Tech, Dr. Rogers offers courses in the sub-fields of political theory and American politics.  His research interests include democratic theory, American political thought, and the history of political thought generally. Dr. Rogers has most recently published an article entitled, "'A Mere Deception- A Mere Ignus Fatus on the People of American': Lifting the Veil on the Electoral College," in Electoral College Reform: Challenges and Possibilities, edited by Gary Bugh (Ashgate, 2010).  The article explores the founders' creation of the Electoral College and the ensuing critiques of it by the Anti-Federalists.  Also, he is the co-author of a chapter with Dr. Sally Friedman entitled "The Local-National Connection and the Representation of Minorities" in her book the Dilemmas of Representation: Local Politics, National Factors; and the Home Styles of Modern U.S. Congress Members (2007).  Currently, he is serving as the editor and an article contributor for a special edition of the Midsouth Political Science Review journal on declining civic education in the U.S.  Dr. Rogers has been at Arkansas Tech since 2007.
