Now that you know you have the necessary technology to take on-line classes, your next questions are likely to be: How much does it cost? How do I pay for it?
For specific details of the current costs, important dates and other vital information, please refer to the Student Accounts website at: http://stuaccts.atu.edu. The costs for online courses are the same as traditional courses at Arkansas Tech - an advantage over many other online programs. If you have additional questions, please call Student Accounts at (479)968-0271 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The Student Accounts office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:00 with the phone answered until 5:00.
If you do not have sufficient personal funds to pay for your education, you may be eligible for federal financial aid. All students are eligible to receive a student loan but must be enrolled in at least six hours as an undergraduate student and not be currently in default on a previous student loan. Some students may also be eligible for a federal Pell Grant. In some instances you may be enrolled in less than six hours and still receive the grant. It is important to note that you must complete at least 60% of the semester in order to keep all of the aid awarded to you for a term. If you withdraw from the term prior to the 60% point, you will have to repay a portion of the aid received for that term.
To apply for federal financial aid, go to http://www.fafsa.gov. This application should be completed at least six weeks prior to the beginning of the term in which you plan to enroll. Arkansas residents may also be eligible for funds through the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE). Please see their web site, http://www.adhe.edu , for information and the "YOUniversal" scholarship application. The Financial Aid Office hours are 8:00-5:00 Monday through Friday with the exception of 12:00-1:00 on Wednesday when they are closed for staff meetings. The telephone number for the Financial Aid Office is (479)968-0399. The email address is email@example.com.
Financial planning is an important part of your educational aspirations.
