Ms. Young joined the Center for Preparedness and Recovery as Director in 2011 bringing years of experience serving as Director of Emergency Management for Sebastian County Arkansas and other related positions.  She is an Arkansas Master Certified Emergency Manager, a nationally recognized Paramedic, a National Association for Search and Rescue SAR Technician II and K-9 SAR Tech III, a Certified Floodplain Manager and certified as an HSEEP train-the-trainer.  Her experience includes numerous successes with writing and administering grants, HSEEP exercises, and planning for, responding to, and mitigating emergencies and disasters.

As Center Director Ms. Young has overall responsibility for managing the activities and staff involved in conducting emergency preparedness and recovery outreach projects throughout the state of Arkansas and surrounding regions.  Two areas of focus for her Center projects are Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) and grand application and management.  Ms. Young also serves as Adjunct Professor for the Department of Emergency Management.
