Dear Deans, Directors, and Teacher Coordinators:

The Arkansas Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (ArACTE) Conference will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008, at the University of the Ozarks, Walker Hall in Clarksville , Arkansas . Attached are a registration form, call for proposals, and a list of selected hotels and restaurants located in the Clarksville area. Please encourage university and p-12 school administrators and instructors to attend the conference focusing on the theme “Advocates for Teachers, Candidates, Families, and Students.” In addition, I would encourage everyone to submit a proposal to present at the conference.

The conference will begin with registration and continental breakfast from 8:00-8:30 a.m. followed by concurrent sessions beginning at 8:40 a.m. Our luncheon speaker will be Dr. Mona S. Wineburg, Director of Teacher Education for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).

Attached is a registration form for administrators and teachers with a registration deadline of March 21 at a cost of $60. After March 21, the cost of registration will be $75. The program will appear on the ArACTE web site http://education.atu.edu/ARACTE by April 4 and you may peruse the presentations for the conference. All information mentioned regarding the conference as well as information about the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) SPA training on April 10 is on the above website.
