Dr. Ellen Treadway is a visiting assistant professor of teaching, learning, and leadership in the ATU Center for Leadership and Learning.She works with the MTLL and MTLL- NTL programs, and teaching graduate courses in curriculum, assessment, and action research.
She comes to Arkansas Tech University from the Arkansas Public School Resource Center in Little Rock, where she worked as a teaching and learning specialist with rural schools and public charter schools across the state. Prior to this, she served as deputy associate director of curriculum, assessment, and research at the Arkansas Department of Education. She wore a number of hats at the state agency, including foreign language specialist and English language assessment specialist.
Dr. Treadway earned a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with specializations in curriculum studies and language education from Indiana University in Bloomington. She also holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Indiana University, Bloomington, and an M.A.T. in secondary Spanish from the University of Memphis. Her undergraduate degree is in Spanish from Rhodes College in Memphis. Dr. Treadway brings more than twenty years of teaching experience to her position at Tech, at all levels of education.
