Master of Education School Counseling
and Leadership

Center for Leadership and Learning (CLL) Mission
The mission of the Center for Leadership and Learning is to prepare, through a performance-based
system, school leadership teams (administrators, counselors, teachers) with the knowledge,
skills, and dispositions to work collaboratively to develop a professional learning
community focused on student success.
Master of Education, School Counseling and Leadership (COUN)
The Master of Education, School Counseling and Leadership is designed to prepare candidates
for a degree and eligibility for Arkansas licensure as a school counselor leader.
The degree program of study consists of 17 hours of school leadership core courses
and 28 hours of school counseling speciality courses. Authentic classroom experiences,
representative of daily situations school leaders encounter, are integrated into courses.
The School Counseling and Leadership program is designed for degree completion within
three years. Individuals will be entered into the program as cohorts.

Interested individuals must first apply and be accepted to the Arkansas Tech University
Graduate College.
Complete the on-line graduate application form
Request official transcripts from each college or university attended
Furnish proof of immunity against measles and rubella by sending proof of two (2) MMR immunization shots for persons born after January 1, 1957.
Pay a non-refundable application fee of $25

After an individual is accepted into Graduate College, the individual must be accepted into the Center for Leadership and Learning School Counseling and Leadership Program of Study. To make program of study application to the School Counseling and Leadership, individuals must provide a:
Letter documenting two (2) years of classroom teaching experience, and
Copy of current teaching licenseg with legal issues.
