Job Description: This position will work within the Water Management Division and is responsible for providing assistance in management and oversight of Commission programs related to dam safety and floodplain management. Position duties include: performing inspections of dams, engineering calculations related to hydrology and hydraulics, writing technical reports, conducting project reviews, and making technical presentations.
Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.
Special Qualifications: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to include a working knowledge or project experience in common computer software applications such as database, spreadsheet, and word processing. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus.

This job is not 8 hrs a day and is never the same. We concentrate on a formation known as the Fayetteville Shale. This will encompass much of north central Arkansas. It is producing really well and the companies are pushing us to be bigger. A field engineer will handle paper work, chemicals, questions and other related items that the customer needs answers too.
We require that the engineer wear steel toe boots, hard hats, and safety glasses. You will be asked at some point to swing a hammer and pick up iron. (But that is not the majority of your job). You must be able to tolerate harsh weather. We try not to stop for much of anything. Communication is also a key component. You will need to know Excel. Other design software will be taught later at the Frac Tech Training courses. BS in Engineering is very important. Chemistry background a plus. |
