Business Administration- Management & Marketing, May 2009
After graduating from ATU, I had the opportunity to spend a semester in China, teaching the children of a good friend of mine. Following this excursion, I returned to Central Arkansas to work for Hewlett-Packard in enterprise software solutions. This was never the career route of choice for me, and after two years there I committed myself to finding a position in the menswear industry, which has long been my primary interest. After endless cover letters and resumes sent into what seemed like the black hole of the internet, I was fortunate to land a position with a Dutch menswear label, Suitsupply, and spent a few months training in Amsterdam before relocating to NYC to work as a planner and buyer for our U.S. stores. Ten months with the company helped me make some key connections and taught me a great deal about the industry. Recently, I was recruited by the Alan Flusser Custom Shop to help run the operational and production side of the business. Now I will be focusing on developing best practices with our tailors and factories, managing client relations, and building a social media presence.
