Hiking Trip at Petit Jean State Park

Date: Mar. 9th Location: Petit Jean State Park Cost: Free Time of Departure: 9:00 am Description of Event: Come join the Outdoor Rec department of Campus Recreation as we spend a day viewing the scenic waterfalls of Petit Jean State Park. We will be departing from Arkansas Tech campus on Saturday March, 09, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

Beginners Fly Fishing

Date: Mar. 23rd Location: Heber Springs, AR Cost: Free Time of Departure: 8:00 am Description of Event: Come join the Outdoor Rec department of Campus Recreation as we head to Heber Springs to visit our friends at Ozark Anglers. We will spend the morning with an experienced guide teaching how to cast, effective techniques, and popular places to fly-fish throughout the state. Once the tutorial is finished we will head to the Little Red River to try our luck! |
White Water Rafting

Date: Apr. 6th Location: Big Piney Creek Cost: Free Description of Event: Come join the Outdoor Rec department of Campus Recreation as we head to the Ozark mountains to float the Big Piney Creek with Moore Outdoors. The guided white-water rafting trip will be Saturday March, 09, 2013 departing from the Arkansas Tech campus at 10:00 a.m..

Canoe Trip

Date: Apr. 20th Location: Big Piney Creek- Dover, AR Cost: Free Description of Event: Come join the Outdoor Rec department of Campus Recreation as we head to the Big Piney Creek in the Ozark mountains. We will be departing from ATU campus at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April, 20, 2013. This trip is recommended for experienced paddlers as we will be floating a river with Class 1 to Class 3 rapids. (actual date may vary due to water levels) |
