Campus Life at Arkansas Tech University is seeking high-energy, student-focused individuals interested in making a positive impact in the lives of our students. While academic achievement leading to graduation is the reason for attending Arkansas Tech University, the experiences that students have outside the classroom prove to have a lifelong impact. Experiences offered through Campus Life enhance maturity, leadership, time management, friendship, career development, civic engagement along with many other essential life skills.

All our initiatives are designed to help students better understand themselves and the role they play in their sphere of influence. In doing so, we are producing graduates who are better prepared to impact the career and community of their choice. Not only will they have the academic abilities, but through these experiences they have a full understanding of themselves and understand what it takes to be more than just an average college graduate.

Campus Life encompasses the following areas; Campus Recreation, Co-Curricular Experience (On-Track), Facilities, Greek Life, Leadership Programs, New Student Orientation, Outdoor Recreation, Registered Student Organizations, Service Initiatives, Spirit Squads, and Student Activities.

Currently we have Graduate Assistantship positions in the following areas: Campus Recreation (Intramurals & Outdoor Recreation), Greek Life, Student Activities & Orientation, Student Involvement, Leadership & Civic Engagement, Spirit Squads (Cheer & Dance) and Marketing

Position Description:
This 12-month appointment advises current students and student groups, designing and delivering programs to meet the observable, identifiable, and measurable goals of a diverse student body. This position also guides prospective students and parents in their involvement interests and initiatives. Graduate assistants are supervised by Campus Life professionals dedicated to their professional development and success.

As staff members within the Office of Campus Life, Graduate Assistants will be involved in the following:
• Developing and fostering relationships with students and the campus community
• Advising students, student clubs and organizations
• Programming planning, development and implementation
• Marketing
• Presentations and Teaching
• Supervision of student employees and volunteers
• Management and oversight of various office specific initiatives
• Researching current campus trends
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
The minimal requirements for a candidate seeking this assistantship opportunity is a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, admittance to the Arkansas Tech University graduate school as a Master's degree seeking graduate student, a completed background check, and availability to begin working July 1st, 2014. Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to form positive relationships with students are desired.

Remuneration:
$1,000 per month stipend
18 hours of tuition (out-of-state portion waived) per year
