What Is The Fisheries & Wildlife Science Degree?

The Bachelor of Science in Fisheries & Wildlife Science is housed within the College of Natural and Health Sciences. This program is designed with the flexibility to prepare students for a career within natural resources management upon graduation or for graduate school should they choose to pursue that path.
 

What Will I Learn In This Program?

  • Core biological concepts and principles
  • Working knowledge of aquatic and terrestrial ecology
  • Management of fisheries and wildlife resources Identifying regional fish and wildlife species
  • Techniques to capture and mark fish and wildlife, assessing their age, sex, and habitat
  • Basic use of GPS equipment and GIS computer programs
  • State and federal laws that regulate conservation of natural resources
  • Basic statistical concepts
  • Preparation of well written reports and quality oral presentations
