University Honors Difference
- Grace Semester
To insure that students maintain their scholarships, University Honors
has instituted a grace semester. Should a student fall below the required
3.25 cumulative GPA, a "grace" semester provides another
chance to improve the cumulative GPA.
- Honors Curriculum
The curriculum for the Honors program works concurrently with any
major. Honors students are required to take 19 to 23 hours of Honors
courses depending on their majors. For example, instead of taking
American History, the students take an Honors section of American
History.
- Course Load
Each Honors student is required to complete a minimum of 12 credit
hours each semester, as opposed to the usual 15 required of Academic
Scholarship recipients. Reducing the credit hour requirement creates
a more manageable transition from high school to college.
