What should you expect during entering freshman early registration?
Your first college registration can be intimidating, but it does not have to be. The academic advisors at Arkansas Tech University are dedicated to helping you begin your educational journey with the right information and the right courses.
Starting in May and ending in mid-August, the Academic Advising Center coordinates a special registration for first-time entering freshmen. Freshmen, who have a partial admission status, will be invited by letter to make a summer registration appointment. Your appointment will last a minimum of one hour.
You can come by yourself or bring your family. Either way, your
academic advisor will expect you to communicate your
expectations. For advanced preparation, use our pre-registration
worksheet found on the Advising Center home page and the Fall Schedule of Courses to identify classes you might want to enroll in. If you are completely unfamiliar with the college process,
you may want to review our list of college terms.
During freshman early registration, new freshmen are introduced to a host of new experiences including:
One-on-one college advising
The basics of reading a schedule of courses and understanding general education requirements
Assistance in finalizing housing arrangements and receiving your campus post office box
An appointment with a financial aid counselor, if needed
When available, the opportunity to receive your parking decal and take your photograph for your campus identification card
Tech Learning Communities information
Participation in the College Student Inventory to facilitate your mentoring assignment
Additional academic advisor information for those who have a declared academic major
Instructions on University payment policies and academic deadlines
Access to your University email address
Answers to any other questions you or your parent or guardian might have
Arkansas Tech University is dedicated to student success. It is a fact, building a solid relationship
